Observation
Masked, you walk through life. Brando once said, “Most people live in acting masks, afraid to be themselves.” Can a mask be genuine? It depends on what you hide behind it. At this masquerade, I stand among friends, strangers and someone I swore to never face again. He wore a gentle mask but used it to take advantage of me and the one I hold closest. Yet, here I am. What do I gain by holding onto anger? Nothing. So, I choose to let it go. So, my old “friend,” you are here, and so am I. Let’s play.

- As long as the demand is there, make the masks & keep the food on your table. You are selling yourself short, a mask does more than conceal truths, it can also amplify them. If you are a craftsman, your work is more important than you may realize.
- If the road simply is, why bother seeking a name? In divesting from collected things, wouldn't a name just be one more thing? I love much of the stoic way but have struggled with it's emphasis on impermanence. It's nice to be remembered, to have a name.
- I'd like to think it is possible to have both. The care in creation & the financial rewards you're referring to. I feel we're quick to vilify those who embrace selling their creations. Creation merely for profits sake however, is devoid of soul & obvious.
Revision
Not much of a face off after all 295 (if it is you), nor was it necessary. I moved on when I hit submit & in that I already won.
